Our History 

Denton Central Appraisal District is a political subdivision of the State of Texas
for the purpose of discovering and appraising property for ad valorem tax purposes —
for each local taxing unit — within the boundaries of the district.
Established in 1982

Not a subdivision of Denton County or the Denton County Tax Office

In 2022, Denton CAD has approximately:

465,000 Accounts to Appraise Each Year
Total Market Value of $198 Billion

Serves 109 Local Taxing Units
87 Full Time Budgeted Employees
